I have had no time to post anything at all this season! We have cleaned up after the water leak upstairs and have been slammed with volume.
For years we have been a very diversified photography studio. From weddings, babies, seniors, to commercial, etc., we have tried to handle any assignment. But you know, after realizing my events are taking way too long to post and having literally no time to dedicate to my family because of always being on deadline, I have decided to change my approach and re-direct emphasis back to the core focus we have had from the beginning: Weddings and location High School Seniors photography. Accordingly, as of January 1, 2010, we will only be taking business portraits and passport sessions in studio. I have found that I have been spending 80% of my time doing 10% of my business, which just doesn’t make any sense!! I have always been a custom studio, not a volume studio. Increasingly, we are heading that direction and I want to re-focus my efforts on what made Select Photography a success in the first place, what I still have a passion for. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call anytime…

Now for some great news…WE HAVE A PHOTO BOOTH!!!! With our new Eventure Photo Booth we can provide unlimited coverage for your reception or private party. The Eventure’s portable design makes it ideal for hard-to-access locations. We can customize the strip graphics for each event. Look for info and a dedicated Booth page on our site in the next few weeks.
How about some random pictures? Here are bunch; enjoy!!!!

Laura here…Bill usually posts the comments, but he is preoccupied right now as today was the quintessential Monday. Bill walked into his studio to find a pipe from upstairs had burst, and the lobby ruined. I joined him and our production assistant, Kevin, this morning hauling out damaged ceiling tiles, our water-soaked sofa, and vacuuming gallons of water. Unfortunately, all appointments today had to be canceled as we clean up and await repairs. Stay tuned for photos. Thank goodness we got flood insurance recently!!!
By the way…we are ELATED about the Seahawks fabulous victory over the Rams yesterday!!!

The Zingerman wedding had it all. A little logistics overview: We started up on Queen Anne around 1:00, went to the Silver Cloud by Qwest at 3:00, left for West Seattle at 4:00 for the ceremony then back down to Court on the Square for the reception at 7:00…new meaning on all-day package for sure. Worth it, awesome wedding party and we ran into Jason “The Bachelor” at Kerry Park. The formal pictures of the couple were late in the evening as they didn’t see each other for pictures before the ceremony. Some of the shots on the roof of the Square were in almost total darkness (you can see the lights on in the windows of buildings behind them in the photo below)…love my Nikon!!

I have had a busy summer for sure. Laura and I have photographed a wedding (or two) nearly every weekend since May. We are still plugging away on studio sessions and a huge uptick of engagement sessions.

Yes, it’s true…only he’s got 4 legs…and I am sure if you visit the studio you are bound to run into my new baby; his name is Blitz (in honor of, who else, the Seahwaks). He is a pure teacup Chihuahua, and super cute (in a manly way). Look at him and try to disagree:

Two great events this weekend. First was Katie and Jacob’s wedding up in Snohomish at Hidden Meadows. It’s a fairly new venue , major cool place in the valley. We had a bridal party of 22, not my biggest but really close. It was the first hot sunny day we had this year and as usual I burned the top of my bald head. It was worth it….

…. the second wedding was nearer home at the Auburn Adventist Academy. Brittany and Jiri wrapped up the weekend with a fun and most exciting ceremony.
